FALL into WINTER: From Exhale to Surrender

Moving from the Metal Element to the Water Element, this particular transition holds so much potential for our transformation and naturalness, and yet, we often resist and miss it’s medicine. We move from the Lung into the Kidney in Chinese Medicine- the root of all life. The Kidney holds our fundamental energy, capacity for dreaming and imagination, sexual energy and desire and the blueprint of our destiny. Winter is a time for gestating and nourishing these realities. It is a time for stillness, reflection, surrender, and soul-nourishing time in the origin point of all of life. There is, indeed, in Mary Oliver’s words, a “dazzling darkness” inside of this season. It offers us deep nourishment and resource…though instead of drinking in these gifts, many people slip into depression, and fear of isolation as the darkness settles in. We often crash, instead of resource in Winter becasue we drive ourselves to burnout during the rest of the year.

Outside of the actual Seasonal Transition, this arc of change, which can occur for us at any time of year, traces our path from letting go to a necessary period of dormancy before any real growth can occur. The time of stillness after a death, a breakup or any kind of ending or letting go. How well do we do this? Do we jump to premature growth and ambition out of fear of this fallow time? Do we get stuck in Winter long past its due? Are there personal Winters that we never allowed, still waiting their turn in the cycle of things? Are we still inside of a Winter from years ago? This weekly Qigong series will gift you an honest and harmonizing transition from Fall into Winter and bring you into the extraordinary nourishment that you need. A nourishment that you cannot receive in any other season. The rest of your cycles literally depend on whether you make this transition fully and well. There is no true Spring- hope, growth, newness, without a true Winter.

In this series, we will work with the MogaDao Yin Tonifying, Yang Tonifying and Fall to Winter Qigong Forms.

No Qigong Experience required.

About these forms:

The MogaDao Cosmological Qigong are energetic and archetypal maps that trace the ley lines of change. What do we need in order to make transitions harmoniously. For example, how do well do we grieve? Do we understand what grief is for? Why is it so hard to let go? What are we holding back because we think that we are not ready? Where are we hiding out/ Where are we overgiving, over-expressing to the point of exhaustion? Do we know the true meaning of risk and what it takes to become who we are trying to become? How well do we celebrate and expand into exuberance? Nature and the Cosmos offer us brilliant maps of harmony and participation. We are a Cosmos in and of ourselves.

We tend to get lost in transitions. We lose energy, we skip ahead, we get stuck, we forget cycles, we bypass uncomfortable phases. We meddle too long, we overstay the season, we leave too early, we orphan parts of our souls that are trying to give us Rites of Passage every single day. The MogaDao Cosmological Forms are both a map and a medicine- they show us how to become harmonious, and they medicate us energetically and psychospiritually.

This Series offer teachings and weekly practice technologies that attend to the sacredness and necessity of our transitions throughout the year – from season to season as well as the infinite changes in our hearts and spirits as we walk through this life. These weeks of practice will change your relationship to your own energy, emotions and humanness forever. You will understand that you were born as much a part of nature as the tree outside your window.

*These classes will not be recorded.

To date, not a single MogaDao practice is available in digital recorded form. This has been a very intentional (and radical) decision by Zhenzan Dao, the founder of the lineage. This requires us to be dedicated, present, and committed in a unique and beautiful way. These classes will not be recorded.
