STALKING WILD PSOAS: SEXUAL EXPRESSION AND CORE INTEGRITY

A COLLABORATION with author and somatic virtuoso, LIZ KOCH

2019
BOULDER, CO
This 2.5-day, process-oriented workshop will be a confluence of Liz Koch’s groundbreaking work and understanding of the Wild Psoas and Sarah Byrden’s transmission of her Depth Sexuality work, The Great Remembering. It will nourish the bio-intelligence of the psoas, lend deep healing to psoas issues, awaken your core integrity and integrate this most core structure of the body into a more global embodiment of sexual vitality, archetype and integrity. Not to be missed for bodyworkers, movers and inhabitants of the soma.

We begin with an invitation to all human beings to awaken into a different consciousness from the one society has provided us. We evoke a different experience of existing under the cultural and historical terrain that has been going on since the beginning of time. This biological awareness changes our sense of being, shifting our focus, helps us to emerge from the isolation of separation and subsequently dissolves our insistence on being a thing called a body integrating our participation in the larger biological processes of life. When we allow ourselves the opportunity to simply explore, evoke, and call forth innate movement we discover for ourselves a deep inner knowing that elicits profound conductivity, vital meaning, and delicious playfulness.

Our venue for the weekend. Elk Meadow Sanctuary.
Sarah will bring to our explorations her teaching and transmission of The Great Remembering: A reclamation of Sex, Soul and our eternal Wildness~ a practice tradition and culture of sexual reclamation and integrity. It’s teachings and practices hold sexuality in its rightful place of primordial power. Her sexuality teaching is an outgrowth of her study in the MogaDao tradition, a school and lineage of which she has stepped out of, though very grateful for all she received in her years of study and certification.

Sexual energy is acknowledged as the fundamental energy of every aspect of our lives, responsible for physical health and vitality, creativity and generosity, trust in the essential goodness of being and our ability to live a life that is aligned with purpose. Our sexual energy, in a Daoist view, holds the code, quite literally, for our destiny. Through Archetypal Qigong practices, the re-mythologizing of our sex understanding, and the powerful integration of the most core somatic structures of sex and the psoas. We embark on a journey of healing, embodiment and our responsibility to the power and source of our sexual energy and body. This workshop is the creative confluence of these two bodies of work, with the express purpose of reconnecting with our originality, wisdom and essence in body, energy and soul.
